As we move into our 8th year at HaveFunBiking, all the winter bicycle activities now being scheduled are making it conducive to cycling here in the upper Midwest, year-round. First, there was commuter and ice bike racing and now, with the popularity of the fat tire bike, more events are being scheduled all winter long.

World-renowned Chinese artist and activist from Beijing, Ai Weiwei’s new edition of his Forever Bicycles sculpture at Toronto’s Nathan Phillips Square, is the centre piece of Scotiabank’s Nuit Blanche art exhibition that highlights 65 independent projects by Toronto’s art community, with three curated exhibitions featuring 44 projects produced by the City of Toronto.

Ready for the energizing season of the year?
Cycling in Utrecht, Netherlands, this video was shot in the first snow, there. It wasn't heavy, but a light flurries fell all day so the streets couldn't be cleared. Such a thin layer of snow didn't stop anybody cycling, though.

This is an inspiring article and a new way of thinking, looking for smarter transportation.
After living in San Francisco for three years, Arjun Adamson decided it was time to remove the last facet of my life from Los Angeles, his 2005 Mini Cooper. To replace the primary mode of transport, he bought a Kalkhoff electric bike. It’s not quite the same energy expense as a traditional bike, but its certainly more active than sitting on a bus or in a car.

It was a great day for riding last Saturday, November 9th, across Mason City, Iowa. Though a bit cold and windy here is a photo of all the loot hauled in by everyone who volunteered to ride. In the upper Midwest, Minnesota's Cranksgiving is this Saturday, November 16, at 2 p.m. An annual Minneapolis charity ride/race to support local organizations that host Thanksgiving meals.
