MN_L_sisters_300x199.jpgFor the first time, middle school students (7th and 8th grade) will be allowed to compete in the Minnesota High School Cycling Leagues’ high school mountain bike racing program as part of a pilot program approved by the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA). Middle school students can register with the MN League and compete in a single middle school-only race to be held between the Girls and Boys division races at the Sept. 29th competition, held at Hillside Mountain Bike Park in Elk River, Minn.

STClassic1.pngThe Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota (BikeMN) is looking for volunteers to work at the Saint Paul Classic. No experience is necessary! Spend a couple of hours at Minnesota's biggest one-day bike ride working in the registration tent, unloading trucks, distributing and selling t-shirts, or offering food and drink to hungry and thirsty riders at a rest stop. Some positions allow you to work for a couple of hours and then participate in the ride too!

Folks are now getting it that Open Streets events are best taken in, on two wheels and the event we are lining up here in Richfield has a lot to offer those who participate in this year's experience."

Some of the best cycling in the Midwest is on this weekend as the La Crosse Area Bicycle Festival celebrates cycling in the scenic, deep river valleys and bluffs of the Driftless Region of Southeastern Minnesota and West Central Wisconsin. Full of bicycling opportunities and family fun activities the festival begins Thursday, August 29th and goes through the weekend, wrapping up on Monday, September 2nd.
