Fire Up Your Feet Expands its Activity Tracker Challenge Award

local_hero.jpgThe Safe Routes to School National Partnership is pleased to announce the national expansion of the Fire Up Your Feet program.  Fire Up Your Feet, the “go to” resource for families, teachers, and school staff to encourage kids to walk, play, and get moving. The program began as a Minnesota pilot program in spring 2011 with sponsorship from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, who continues to be the exclusive, statewide sponsor of Fire Up Your Feet in Minnesota. Fire Up Your Feet is now an approved program of Let’s Move and along with Safe Routes to School National Partnership, Fire Up Your Feet’s national partners Kaiser Permanente and the National PTA are devoted to improving the health of all children and families.

srtsnp_logo.gifThe newly enhanced national program includes an improved website, increased activity challenge awards, expanded resources, and an online fundraising component for schools and individuals.  Registration for the spring  Activity Tracker Challenge Awards, with awards for schools and students totaling $1,500, is open now and the session runs from April 15 - May 15, 2013. Fire Up Your Feet’s healthy school fundraising program includes a complete online donation system with school and individual donor pages and free, useful fundraising resources and materials.
