MN Ironman Bike Ride Takes You Through the Scenic St. Croix River Valley

3083372764_a3aa546c98_z.jpgThe original Ironman® endurance event, the Minnesota Ironman® Bicycle Ride will host approximately 4,500 cyclists for its 47th annual kickoff to the spring cycling season, this Sunday.  It is the longest running organized bicycle ride in the state of Minnesota, and provides routes for all ages and skill levels.  The Minnesota Ironman® is hosted by Hostelling International-USA and supports their non-profit mission and work here in Minnesota. They operate the Mississippi Headwaters Hostel in Itasca State Park.  

To date, there are 3,682 pre-registered cyclists, with an estimated 1,000 day-of registrants.  Participants will come from all over the Twin Cities metro area, outstate and from around the country.  

It all happens this Sunday, April 28th, 2013
6:30 -  9:30 a.m. Registration open & riders begin (Since this is not a race, riders may begin their route as soon as they're registered)
At 10 a.m. all riders must have started their ride and by 5:30 p.m. all riders must have finished the course selected.

Start and end this ride at Ride Headquarters, at the Washington County Fairgrounds, at the center of all routes.  Routes travel through the Minnesota communities of Stillwater, Afton, Lake Elmo, Scandia, Marine on the St. Croix and Oak Park Heights.
